In 2020, METU has introduced a new category in higher education: the University of Creative Industries, which clearly reflects its unique portfolio-based education system, the university’s professional mission and the most important characteristic of its student and educator communities. One of the most important steps towards introducing the University of Creative Industries concept was the launch of the myBRAND portfolio-based education methodology in 2018.
With its myBRAND education methodology, METU was the first Hungarian university to transition its education model to fit the international trend of portfolio-based training systems. It operates based on continuously renewing methods, supported by educators with international experience and an inspiring, innovative environment, thereby preparing students to meet the demands of shifting labor market needs both in Hungary and abroad.
